What we will make easier, is constructing this for you, reach out for a free consultation with us here. Let’s jump in!
Use of doors and windows
An extension doesn’t have to mean just brickwork. Your extension could take almost a conservatory or orangery type effect, with a foundation of brickwork lower down, and the rest a combination of elegantly placed windows to allow natural light to flood your home. This can create a sense of synergy between your home and garden. If you’re not proud of your current garden, we can also assist with this in laying decking or patios, and you could artistically add garden features, plants or ornaments to add a touch of sophistication.
Double height spaces
Spaciousness doesn’t just apply to the blending of your home with the garden! Creating an open ended upstairs area with no surrounding walls can allow you to view your space from a range of angles. You can also get creative with your staircases, opting for a rustic stone, open slot wood, spiralling staircases that opens up more of the room to display your authentic self.
Curving walls
Extensions don’t have to be four straight walls. You can amaze your guests with your new curved walls! This can help create a more natural, organic feel to your home, especially effective if you live in the countryside such as the Yorkshire Dales. If this isn’t for you, we can also help design your kitchen counters or islands into a curved shape too, allowing you more room to move around when you’re cooking or milling with guests.
Mix up your materials
Do you love the idea of a rustic slab wall? Perhaps a redbrick wall to adorn a fireplace? Perhaps you’d like to go au naturale with a green, leafy theme to blend your home into your garden. There is nothing preventing you from combining styles, or having one or more walls dedicated to a particular style. This can apply to your flooring as well! If you have a love for antiquity styles, you could opt for Roman inspired mosaics, slab effects in your bathroom. Perhaps you favour an oriental style, opting for a raised area for your bath. You could even opt for a natural rock theme with glass, many different styles compliment each other.

Light fittings
On the back of adding contrast, don’t be afraid to opt for different fittings such as metallic, chandeliers, lights in a wooden fitting, or even glass! In the right materials, this can help illuminate or enhance features such as cobblestone, wood panels, glass extensions and so much more!
Different shaped and cut islands
Kitchen islands typically tend to come as squares and rectangles, so what better way to inspire awe in your guests by leaving them wondering how you achieved a circular, or heck, even triangular island?
Roofing
Roofs don’t have to be flat, or slanted surfaces with tiles. You might decide you’d like to style your roof in jutting shapes of materials or shapes. You could even opt to have a large scale window as your roof, contrasting against brickwork to flood your extension with light whilst giving it a contemporary feel. Adding in a roof lantern is really on trend in 2022 and both looks fantastic from the outside as well as flooding your extension with natural light.
